1st Grade had a blast at the Wellness Walk on Friday! Thank you, Mrs. Crews, the kitchen staff, & all the helpers for a fabulous day!

The First Grade team enjoyed a morning of amazing professional development! Kansas City PBS' Sesame Street in Communities Conference is held at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center each year. This year's keynote speaker was author Rosemarie Truglio; who shared her love and passion for Compassion, Communication, and Conversation. Many wonderful things were learned, and we can't wait to share them in our classrooms! The day was well spent with not only my mentee, but my friend as well!! 💜💛

The Book Fair is coming!!! We will be open during Family Night on Wednesday, October 16th. We'll be open after school on various days through the 23rd. Finally, we will finish up on Thursday, October 24th in the gym during parent/teacher conferences.

Good morning, Wildcats! This coming week, we will host our first PK-8 Family Night and wrap up the first quarter of school. Be sure to read all about it in the PK-8 Monday Message: https://secure.smore.com/n/yuxah
Football Friday!! Support the Wildcats vs Northwest Hughesville tonight kick off at 7pm.

Just a reminder that the 7th Grade field trip is tomorrow! We will be leaving the school at 8:00 and will be back before 3:00!
These 5th graders represented Slater school very well today in the Math and Science competition at CMU. They earned 3rd place after participating in answering questions in the knowledge part, then constructed the egg lander, in hopes it would survive the 3 story drop, in a performance event. Congratulations, to all that attended! It was an "eggcellant" day!

Two JH teams competed at the annual Forbes Math and Science competition held at CMU. They had to build a 'space ship' for their 'eggstranaut' so it would survive a 3 story drop intact and on target as well as compete in rounds of math/science knowledge questions. They did a great job of representing Slater!

Class of 2026 please look at the schedule for basketball games and let Mrs. Key and Mrs. Bayne know what days and shifts you can work. Our first home game to work will be on October 21st. If you have any questions let us know.
