1st hour High School Art Class has been working on Linear Tape Projects in the Hallways this week! So proud of what they all came up with and accomplished. They are having a competition and the winner gets some of their favorite snacks 😃. I choose random judges to choose their top three favorites for first, second and third places. There are a total of six groups. What a fun experience this has been!

Last week, the SHS Ag Science I class hosted guest speaker, Ms. Bonita Butner who spoke about the Dalton Vocational School, one of 4 schools in the state to once have a New Farmers of America Chapter. NFA was established in 1935 for African American youth to promote agricultural leadership and citizenship, merging with FFA in 1965. Ms. Butner's late mother, Ida was a student at the school alongside others in the Slater and Gilliam area.

After a week of learning about the Engineering Design Process, we decided to become Engineers in Jr. High Science.
The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students had a task to create a table out of newspapers and magazines. The table had to be a certain height and able to hold a heavy book for more than 5 seconds.
It was a success, and we have some engineers in the making!
