Wildcat Parents/Guardians/Adults,
With the weather conditions in the upcoming forecast (snow, wind, extremely cold temperatures), the Building Principals have asked teachers to prepare Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) lessons for students to complete in core content areas (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) if school is not in session and the District utilizes an AMI day.
AMI assignments for K-8 students will be paper packets, while HS assignments will be a mix of online and paper assignments.
If school is not in session, the nature of the day (Snow Day = no assignments / AMI = complete AMI assignments) will be indicated in the alert.
The following list of radio and television stations will be notified and will announce school closings: KMMO - 102.9 FM; KMMO - 1300 FM; KRES - 104.7 FM; KMZU - 100.7 FM; Thrillshare; Marshall Democrat News Website; District Social Media & Website.

Slater Schools will not be in session on Wednesday, 01.10.2024, due to weather.
SCCC students will not report to the Career Center. Please check your email for information from your instructors.

In compliance with the new law regarding lead in water sources at or above 5 parts per billion (ppb), Slater Schools tested 92 water sources throughout our buildings. All 9 of the water sources that came back above the acceptable level are being remediated or capped off. Most are seldom used sinks or water spigots that need a key to open. Ms. Fox & Ms. Ballenger from the kitchen are giving today's Staff Shout Out to Mrs. Jacki Clements. They said, "Jacki is willing to step in and help Sherry and I when we are short handed ...she never questions it and always says sure thing. You’re the best Jacki!"

Paraprofessional Emilee Grimes gets today's Staff Shout Out - Ms. Jennifer Evans said, "...Emilee does a great job...& is always willing to help any way possible." Way to go, Emilee, & thanks for what you do!

Ms. Pointer is giving our Maintenance Crew a well-deserved Shout Out today, saying, "I am grateful to our maintenance staff for taking care of all the things they do. ... They are always willing to help no matter how big or small the task. Thanks, guys!!"

Ms. Pointer is giving today's shout out to Mrs. Michelle Krog, saying, "Michelle wears a lot of hats in our staff community. ... She is a great leader and role model for our staff. Thanks for all you do, Michelle."

Ms. Pointer is sending today's Staff Shout Out to Mrs. Crumbaugh - she said, "I truly enjoyed seeing the artwork hanging in the gym during conferences. Art can be a difficult subject to teach, but you are clearly having an impact on several of our youngest creators."

Ms. Mindee Grimes gets today's Shout Out from Deanna Wright. Deanna said, "...She always checks up on Lisa if she misses a day... She shows us her heart each and everyday. We love her like family and we could never do school all day without her! "

Kendal Surber had this to say about Mrs. Presley in today's Staff Shout Out: "...Many [students] have been sick these last few weeks and she always leaves a cute little note wishing them well! We love and appreciate all she does for our babies!"

Mrs. Jacki Clements is giving today's shout out. Mrs. Clements says, "... {Mrs. Krog}’s always willing to take on time consuming tasks, to help anyone who needs it, and is ALWAYS here for any student or staff member! I love how much she cares about our Wildcat Family!"

Seventh Grade students enjoyed touring Shatto Dairy today! The milk was good, and the ice cream was yummy!
