Slater High School Holds Docu-Drama

April 13, 2017 - Slater High School, with the help of multiple individuals and agencies, held the first docu-drama in recent years on site.  The mock wreck involved two vehicles and five SHS students.

Procedures performed at the event included:  field sobriety tests, medical evaluations, ambulance transport, jaws of life extrication, coroner services, funeral home collection and transport of body, and air-evac helicopter transport.

Slater School District Counselor Janell Castle began coordinating the docu-drama with members of the Slater Police, Ambulance, and Fire in Fall 2016.

"Janell did a great job putting this together and coordinating the efforts," said Slater High School Principal Jessica Clements.  "She's made an incredible impact in her first year at Slater and the students and staff appreciate her dedication."

The school district wishes to thank the following individuals and organizations for their contributions to and support of the 2017 Docu-Drama:  Walter Cadwell, Saline County 911 Dispatch, Saline County Sheriff's Department, Weiker Funeral Home, Life Flight Air Evac, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Slater Police Department, Slater Ambulance, and the Slater Fire Department.
