Slater School District

Junior High and High School students and teachers celebrated their return to school from Thanksgiving Break in style on Monday, November 28! 

After being welcomed back, Slater Cheer Coach Katie Shay shared news of SHS Freshman Madisyn Beeler's journey to Houston, TX as part of the All American Cheerleader cheer squad (more details to follow in the 'News' section).

Slater Math Instructor and Gaming Club Sponsor Levi Matheis recognized his organization's recent gaming tournament win over Marshall High School (top left photo).

Students of the month were recognized and rewarded for their involvement and school spirit - JH and HS Student Councils presented each student with a $10 iTunes gift card (center photos).  Students were:  
6th Grade:  Kendyl Drummond
7th Grade:  Ian McWhirter
8th Grade: Lydia Stephenson
9th Grade:  Diego Milan
10th Grade:  Linda Hostetter
11th Grade:  Rachael Bagnell
12th Grade:  Lauren Reeter (not pictured)

Attendance in general was a focus, with recognition being given to the 7th graders for the highest attendance in Junior High with 97.28% and the Sophomores for leading the High School with 95.25%.  Names were drawn from those grades for $10 Casey's Gift Cards, sponsored by the JH and HS Student Councils.  Winners were Brandon Fleishman and Jayleigh Perrin.  

The HS Student Council closed the assembly by recognizing the November Staff Member of the month - a distinction voted upon by Student Council members - and awarding Mrs. Lauren Crews.
